Held Housing Support Program: A Path to Stable Housing in Greensboro

Stable housing is fundamental to personal security, dignity, and opportunity. Through our new Housing Support Program, Held is taking an innovative approach to addressing homelessness in Greensboro by providing direct, guaranteed financial support combined with personalized assistance.

The Program

Starting January 2025, our pilot program will support homeless individuals and families in Greensboro through a comprehensive approach that includes:

  • Monthly housing assistance of $750 for 12 months

  • Additional $3,000 fund for initial housing costs (security deposits, first month's rent)

  • Total support of $12,000 per household over the program duration

  • Dedicated Participant Support Specialist for each household

  • Assistance with housing search and applications

  • Connections to community resources and opportunities

How the Program Works

Partner agencies in the community will refer qualified participants to Held to join the program. Once brought into the program, they’ll receive consistent monthly financial support while working with their Support Specialist to find and secure stable housing.

The program is designed to provide both immediate stability and long-term support, giving participants the foundation they need to focus on their goals and future plans.

Unlike traditional assistance programs, Held's financial support comes with no strings attached. We believe in respecting participants' autonomy and dignity by trusting them to make the best decisions for their circumstances while providing reliable, consistent support.

Community Impact

Through this initiative, we aim to demonstrate how direct financial support can create pathways out of homelessness while strengthening our Greensboro community. By providing both housing stability and supportive services, we're working to help individuals move from crisis to security, and from uncertainty to opportunity.
